Hello, my name is Charlotte and I am a writer, an environmentalist and a mother. I began this blog in 2016 to record my growing knowledge of trees when I was the Communications Coordinator for The Tree Council, the UK’s lead charity for trees in any setting.
These days, the blog covers all things green, wild and outdoorsy and not just trees. It’s a place for me to share my attempts to connect myself and my children with nature and to lead a more sustainable lifestyle, from searching for bugs in our back garden to planning an eco self-build in Devon.
Born and raised in Harborne, Birmingham, and now living in Haringey in North London, I have always loved wildlife and nature but have a particular thing about trees, woods, wildflowers and hedgerows.

Hi Ashley, nice to meet you too! I think you used to follow me years ago when my blog was called the arborealist. I used to volunteer for the Woodland Trust and the London Wildlife Trust but I haven’t had much time for writing or volunteering over the last few years as I have been busy having babies.
